Peace, love, the sexual revolution, battle of the sexes, protests, reproductive rights, bra burning, make love not war, Vietnam, Hanoi Jane, Patty Hearst, helter skelter, sex drugs and rock and roll, civil rights movement, household roles in flux…you name it, much need for change, and much change happening in these decades, the 60s and 70s. But as we look back, what has really changed and what still needs work? We take a moment in time to remember and honor some of the controversial movers and shakers, politicians and prophets, music makers, trouble makers and dreamers of these years to reflect and understand where they came from, what they stood for, and what freedoms and choices they earned our generation – the right to a career, the right to self-expression, the freedom to create, and the freedom to just be.
Some states in present day are seeking to overturn Roe v. Wade and alter women’s rights – where does it stop when you start taking choices away? Not just our bodies, but our sexual freedoms and health care access. Women still make only 75% of a man’s present day income. Objectification of women in present day media is prevalent in today’s culture. Women are faced with more concerns and challenges than ever. To quote the 1976 film “Network” – “‘I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!’ Things have got to change. But first, you’ve gotta get mad!”

Embodying the characters of real world femme fatales, this living history belly dance performance tells the unique story of the world’s most powerful women, often too enchanting to be understood and too wild to be bound by love, social hierarchies and rules.
An all-star cast of award-winning international belly dance performers resurrect the nuances of the art of seduction and honor the power of femininity while capturing the essence of historical costuming and dance forms as they define each woman. Mata Hari, Cleopatra, Salome, Sirens, Elizabeth Bathory, Lillith and infamous others leap of the pages of history books, paintings, and tin types and reach into your heart.

Book the hall and send the invitations!!! The beauties are planning a roadtrip for May of 2012 around the Floralia Festival. That puts us smack dab in New Mexico. We are talking with hosts interested in shows in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Texas, and Idaho. Perhaps we are on your route? Contact us to book us in your town, and star in our show – it’s the least we can do! Plus you’ll have the sheer joy of downtime with the coolest chicks in the sisterhood. Some of us do enjoy a shot of whisky on occaision. Hosting us is even more fun!
We love Native Brew. Bring them too. Live music is so much more awesome than canned! World fusion at it’s finest with a unique collaboration of outstanding musicians. Check them out here!
